- 1). Turn off the the Compaq D510 and remove the power cord from the back of the unit. Locate the two small tabs on the front of the case and press in on them.
- 2). Pull the case toward you to remove the cover. Set the cover aside while you work inside the unit.
- 3). Locate the small blue button on the motherboard. This is the CMOS button. Press that button firmly and hold it in for 30 seconds.
- 4). Replace the power cord and power on the D510. Wait for the memory count to complete, then press "F1" to continue the boot process. The computer will re-establish its settings and save them.
