- 1). Open a new blank presentation.
- 2). Click "View," "Master," "Slide Master."
- 3). Click "Format," "Slide Design." Choose the color scheme you want or go to the "Edit Color Schemes" (at the bottom) and change the colors to what you want. Click "Apply."
- 4). Click "Format," "Background." (Filler Effects are under this option as well as the option to use an image of your choice.) Choose what you want. Click "Apply."
- 5). Click "Format," "Replace Fonts." (Text alignment and text placeholders are under this option as well.) Make the changes you want. Click "Apply."
- 6). Click "Format," "Bullets," (if the ruler is not visible, "View," "Ruler") set the indents.
Select text or image placeholders, use the grips (little boxes along the edges of the placeholders) to resize them. - 7). Click "View," "Headers and Footers." Choose the options you want.
- 8). Click "Insert," "New Title Master" (for title slides only.) Format it by following the steps listed previously. Click "Apply."
- 9). To exit the Slide Master, click "View", "Normal."

To save all your work as a new template, click "File," "Save As," "Design Template" (will have *.pot as the extension), give it a name, "Save." - 11
To use your new template, open a blank presentation. Click "Format," Slide Design," "Browse"..Choose your template, click "Apply."
