- 1). Place one of the 9-inch by 6-inch pieces of plywood on a flat building surface. Set one of the 7 1/2-inch by 6-inch pieces on top of the 9-inch by 6-inch piece so it is perpendicular to the first piece and the 6-inch side of the smaller piece matches the 6-inch side of the longer piece. Screw these pieces together by driving in wood screws through the longer piece into the edge of the shorter piece.
- 2). Secure your second piece of 7 1/2-inch by 6-inch piece of plywood on the other side of the 9-inch by 6-inch piece. You will now have a "U" shape.
- 3). Place a piece of 9-inch by 6-inch piece of wood on top of the "U." Screw it into place by driving screws through the top of the 9-inch by 6-inch piece into the edges of the 6-inch by 7 1/2-inch-pieces. You now have a 9-inch by 9-inch wooden box. Repeat this process three more times to get a total of four boxes.
- 4). Place two of the boxes next to each other. Set a box on top each. This will form a 2-foot by 2-foot square. Screw the boxes together by driving screws through the sides that touch in the center of your 2-by-2 grid.
