Yosemite - Backpacking in the Wilderness

Let's face it, the American spirit was forged by people that went where others had never been before, and there is still that pioneer outlook about the American people that like to have at it without thought about the outcome.
There are not a lot of uncharted areas out there anymore, where we can say we were the first to discover it.
That's why I, like the rest of my friends, enjoy things like white water rafting and hiking and camping.
It gets us in touch with our inner pioneer.
As the economy continues to go who knows where, more people are turning towards the adventures of backpacking.
For one thing it is exciting, and it is certainly more cost effective than some other vacation options.
For another thing, it allows you to take control and to end up doing something that you can be proud of and that will make you proud of yourself.
That is not something that every vacation can say it is capable of delivering and that is why we have been doing these kinds of vacations lately.
We found that one of the most unique and fun filled vacations that you could ever do is a backpacking trip through Yosemite.
It has all the aspects of an unforgettable vacation adventure that you will never be sorry you took.
I know we weren't! Yosemite is known for its rustic beauty and some of the most phenomenal waterfalls in the North American landscape, including one of the largest in our portion of the world, which is Yosemite Falls at just over 2,400 feet.
That alone is worth the trip even if you never saw any other part of Yosemite.
But I know from experience that you won't stop at just one visit to the park! There are peaks of over 11,000 feet and mile upon mile of grassy meadows to explore and enjoy.
The park houses the largest living trees in the world and is home to two of the most famous rock formations in the world, El Capitan and Half Dome.
All of this and more is nestled nicely inside the over 1,200 acres of land that make up Yosemite.
There is plenty of area to enjoy the solitude and get in touch with your inner Pioneer spirit, and there's never a lack of new and exciting things to do.
Our personal favorite is the trip to where we see Half Dome and Merced Lake and spend much time in the picturesque Little Yosemite Valley.
It seems to take on a new life every time we do it and always seems as fresh as it did the first time.
But I also enjoy Red Peaks and Ottoway Lakes when we have the time to spend, After reading all the literature and preparing for the trip, you are still going to be amazed and surprised as you take in the breath taking experience that is a backpacking adventure in Yosemite.
I know we are still amazed every time we go there.
