- 1). Clean the bobbers with a warm cloth and a mild detergent. Ivory dish soap is a good cleanser. You do not want to use chemical-based cleaners like rubbing alcohol, especially on styrofoam bobbers because it will eat away at the styrofoam.
- 2). Dry the bobbers off with a dry towel and allow them to air dry for about an hour before painting.
- 3). Open your bottle of paint and dip your small brush in. Small bottles of paint used for models work great. Some model paint brands also offer dayglow colors, which will be highly visible in the water when being used.
- 4). Wipe excess paint off the tip of your brush and apply a thin layer across your bobber's surface. You want to apply a thin, even coat.
- 5). Allow at least two hours for your bobbers to dry after you apply the first coat. If you feel it needs a second coat, apply it at this time.
