- 1). Measure the distance from your ankles to the top of your shoulders. Add 1 inch to this measurement to allow for seams. Cut two pieces of fabric at this length then put them together with the right sides of each piece facing in.
- 2). Trace the outline of the sheik's robe onto the fabric with the sleeves extending out from the shoulders. Sheik robes have wide sleeves at the wrist, a high collar and go straight down from the shoulder. You can also lay on the fabric and have someone trace along the outline of your body with your arms spread out.
- 3). Cut out the outline of the sheik robe 1 inch outside of the outline to allow adequate room for the seams. Pin the sides, sleeves and shoulders.
- 4). Join the two pieces of fabric by sewing along the outline of the sides, sleeves, collar and shoulders, and allow a 1-inch seam.
- 5). Pin a 1-inch hem at the bottom of the robe. Sew around this hem for a finished edge.
- 6). Turn the robe right-side out and wear by pulling it over your head. Adorn it with a colorful vest or sheik headpiece to complete the outfit.
