Salmo is a tiny village on the southeastern end of British Columbia. Founded as a gold and silver mining town, Salmo rests in a valley of evergreens and hosts only a small population. Perhaps befitting of its peaceful nature, Salmo offers very few overnight accommodations, hosting only a handful of hotels and motels situated in serene forested environments. In and around town, visitors partake in fishing, bird watching, skiing and gold panning. - The Reno Motel's official website touts the establishment as “quaint, quiet, cozy [and] comfortable.” Located in Salmo valley on Railway Avenue, the Reno offers decorated units with bedrooms, sitting areas, kitchen suites and bathrooms on wooded grounds that include a barbeque area, lawn sets and patio furniture. This family-owned establishment offers complimentary coffee and tea. In and around town, visitors will find restaurants, a playground, a park, a golf course, shops and a pub. The cities of Nelson, Castlegar and Trail lie within 25 miles of the motel. Contact the Reno Motel via phone for rates and reservations.

This small historic establishment offers two hotel rooms for visitors. Each room includes a queen bed, a kitchenette, a shower and cable television. Rooms rent per night or per week. On-site, Pubside restaurant offers chicken and seafood dishes. Salmo Hotel is the fifth hotel built on its site since 1860; the four previous establishments all burned down.
