- 1). Adhere the florist tape to approximately 6 inches of 22-gauge wire. Hold the wire at the top and stick the tape to the top. Spin the wire between your fingers as you pull the tape downward so that it covers the wire.
- 2). Measure approximately 2 feet of ribbon and hold the spot with two fingers.
- 3). Twist the ribbon at the 2-foot measurement and hold the twist between your thumb and finger.
- 4). Pull more ribbon off of the bolt and make a loop large enough to put your hand through, wrapping it under the first twist. Holding the loop, add another twist so that there are two ribbon twists---one on top and one on bottom, in the two pieces of ribbon. Hold the two twists together between two fingers.
- 5). Pull more ribbon off of the bolt to make a matching loop on the other side of the bow. Twist the loop and add the twist to the other two. Continue to make loops and twist the ribbon until there are five loops on each side of the bow.
- 6). Hold all of the twisted loops with one hand and wrap the wire over all of them. Twist the wire once to hold all of the ribbon together.
- 7). Twist the bow so that the wire tightens down further into the ribbon.
- 8). Place one hand in each loop of ribbon and twist and pull to tighten the entire bow down. This will also help to shape the bow by standing each loop up and spreading them out.
- 9). Cut the ribbon ends at an angle or in a V shape to finish the bow. Use the extra wire on the back of the bow to attach the bow to a clip.
