How to Stop an Anxiety Attack - Helpful Tips to Help You Control and Prevent Them

For many people, anxiety attacks are a daily part life.
Learning how to control them and prevent them is a learning curve and can be achieved with a little time and patience.
If you want to learn how to stop an anxiety attack, something that would help is to first identify why you are having an attack.
Many people suffer from attacks when a specific situation or circumstance comes about.
Try to identify the things in your life that makes you feel anxious.
This will give you a clearer picture of the things you can do to avoid that situation to work on preventing an anxiety attack in the first place.
If you find yourself in the middle of an attack, you will need to calm down your mind and body and bring your heart rate back down to normal.
To do this tell yourself that consciously that you are only having an attack and that nothing more serious is happening to you.
You must realize that an anxiety attack is only that: Anxiety.
The thing with anxiety attacks is that they are self perpetuating and fool you into thinking that there is something more to it than there really is, thus making you even more anxious than before.
Once you tell your mind that you are ONLY having an anxiety attack the next step is to concentrate on your breathing.
Take a few deep breathes in out slowly.
This will help slow your heart rate down.
The last thing you could do is to have a drink of water.
This will cool your body down and rehydrate it.
Remember don't fight anxiety attacks, just let them run their course and they will be over in a few moments.
The more you fight them the worse and longer lasting they will be.
