How to Remove the Pivot Pin From a Meyers Plow

    • 1). Put the vehicle into park and raise the plow up from the ground using the control button. Set the parking brake on the truck and turn the vehicle off.

    • 2). Spray the liquid wrench onto the ends of the pivot pin and as far down the sleeve as possible. Give the lubricant about five minutes to soak in.

    • 3). Place the tappet onto the end of the pivot pin. Wear work gloves and gently begin hammering the tappet with the mallet. Pound until the pivot pin begins to push out the opposite side of the plow.

    • 4). Spray the lubricant deeper into the sleeve on the opposite end as the pin gets further out of the sleeve to help facilitate an easier removal of the pin. Once the pin is at least two-thirds of the way out the sleeve, grip it with your hands and twist it and pull out until it is completely out of the sleeve.
