- 1). Call your phone. As long as your mobile isn't off or set to vibrate, someone will hear it ringing, if you have lost it in a public place, and may decide to answer it. If someone has found it and taken it with them, they also may answer it, and you can then determine their location to retrieve your mobile.
- 2). Retrace your steps. Go back to the place where you last remember having your mobile and see if you can locate it. Taking another phone along with you and calling your mobile as you search may also help you to locate it. If you've lost your phone in a public place, ask the employees whether a phone matching your mobile's description has been found and turned in.
- 3). Contact your carrier. Go online or call customer support to see if it's possible to track the location of your lost mobile remotely. Some phones have GPS tracking features built in for this purpose. If your phone cannot be located, your carrier can deactivate the phone remotely so that other people will not be able to use it.
