- 1). Select the "Bulky/Bedding" cycle when preparing a wash load that includes large items like comforters or bulky blankets. This cycle uses low spin speeds to help keep the bedding balanced inside the washer.
- 2). Place very small items such as infant socks in a mesh garment bag when washing them. If you are washing a load of only small items, distribute the items into more than one garment bag to keep the wash balanced. Each garment bag should include approximately the same amount of clothing. Small items can get stuck to the sides of the drum as they wash, which can lead to an imbalance in the washer.
- 3). Mix large and small items together in the load and avoid washing single items by themselves. Mixing a load allows the clothing to spread out in the drum and preserve the washer's balance.
- 4). Move the clothing within the washer drum around by hand to more evenly distribute the clothing in the washer if it appears as if one side of the drum is more full than the other.
