When we feel rushed to answer questions, our answers are often not as good as they could be. A way to convey that sexuality is important to your children is to make sure that "sex talks" happen at a time when they don't have to be rushed.
Another important reason for this is that conversations about sexuality can, and often do, lead into conversations about other topics. Sexuality is more than the act of sexual intercourse, it is related to how we feel about our bodies, our gender, how we get along with our friends.
Our sexuality is who we are, and you’ll be amazed at the other issues that come up once your children feel comfortable asking you questions about parts of their experience they don’t easily share.
