- Law enforcement training in Kansas is a continual process for officers. Initially, officers must complete at least 560 hours of law enforcement training. Later, officers must complete an additional 40 hours of training each year.
- The Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center is responsible for training hundreds of law enforcement officers each year. The center trains county and state officers. Some law enforcement training programs have specific objectives that potential officers must fulfill. For example, the Kansas City Police Department Training Center requires that officers develop self-discipline, military skills, academic fitness, physical fitness and pride in their job.
- Kansas's law enforcement training is also supported and funded by the Kansas Department of Revenue. The state offers an income tax credit to businesses that financially contribute to the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center.
