- 1). Purchase several wide, clear vases. Find these inexpensively at craft stores or scour thrift stores to find vases that do not match.
- 2). Clean the inside of the vases with a mixture of water and liquid dish detergent. Clean the outside of the vases with glass cleaner.
- 3). Purchase several types of melons, such as watermelon, honeydew and cantaloupe.
- 4). Purchase flowers that have long stems, such as roses or lilies. Remove any thorns from the stems.
- 5). Make small balls with a melon baller from the different types of melon.
- 6). Place the melon balls into the vases, until the vases are about half full.
- 7). Arrange the flowers in the vase by placing the stems between the spaces of the melon balls.
- 8). Place the flower arrangements in the refrigerator or a cold room until just before the reception so the fruit does not spoil before the event.
