- 1). Combine a tablespoon of baking soda with a few drops of hydrogen peroxide. Mix until the substance becomes a creamy paste. The baking soda acts as a mild abrasive and the hydrogen peroxide will whiten the surface of the stains and cups.
- 2). Using the brush, apply the paste to the cups and pitchers so that it saturates the tea stains. Allow the paste to sit for an hour and then rinse.
- 3). Combine 2 tablespoons of white vinegar with 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Mix the two together until they form a thick paste. The acetic properties of vinegar make it an effective, nontoxic stain remover.
- 4). Apply the vinegar and salt paste to the stained area of the cups and pitchers. Allow the paste to sit for 30 minutes and rinse.
- 5). If the stains are still visible, scrub the stained areas. Rinse a dishcloth with warm water and dip the dishcloth in baking soda. Use the dishcloth to scrub the stained area until the stain visibly loosened.
- 6). As a last resort, add a bit of elbow grease to the dishcloth with the baking soda. Scrub the stained area with the dishcloth. After the stains are fully removed, rinse the cups and pitchers thoroughly as the cleaning agents can alter the taste of liquids.
