Summer camps can provide children with unforgettable experiences that help shape their lives. Overnight summer camps allow children to bond with their peers for an extended period of time. There are several summer camps in Louisiana that offer the option of staying overnight. Three such camps are Redeemed Ranch Camp, a Christian equestrian camp, Camp Marydale, a girls' camp offering one- and two-week sessions, and 4-H Camp Grant Walker.

    Redeemed Ranch Camp

    • Redeemed Ranch Camp is a Christian-based equestrian camp located in Heflin, Louisiana. The camp was founded in the 2000 by Joe and Dolores Robinson. The camp is operated at a working horse ranch on 200 acres and offers campers the chance to sleep in real train cars that have been turned into cabins. According to the website "RedeemedRanch.com," "the mission of the camp is to share the love of Jesus Christ with children and youth; this is done through many activities such as horseback riding, horsemanship education, swimming, fishing, nature activities, team building, archery, etc."

As of 2010, Redeemed Ranch Camp offers seven five-day camp sessions ranging in price from $240 to $385 per camper.
