2. Stanley Park Ghost Train
The best--and most popular--Vancouver Halloween attraction for kids is the Stanley Park Ghost Train. Every October, Stanley Park's Miniature Train transforms into the Ghost Train, taking riders on a surprising and (gently) spooky journey through the forest, where live-action scenes are brought to life by the amazing performance artists of Mortal Coil.
Along with the Ghost Train ride, the attraction includes crafts and face-painting (by donation). The theme for 2014 is Mother Goose's Ghastly Garden.

3. Fright Nights at the PNE
For many Vancouverites, it wouldn't be Halloween without at least one trip to Fright Nights at the PNE: the PNE/Playland's Halloween extravaganza which includes multiple haunted houses and scary rides. As a Vancouver Halloween Attraction for kids, parents need to be aware that some of the haunted fun is genuinely scary (plus Fright Nights does happen at night). Use discretion with kids 13 and under. "Tweens" and teens, though, will love the thrills!

5. Haunted Village at the Burnaby Village Museum
One of the top Vancouver attractions for kids, the Burnaby Village Museum is an outdoor museum that recreates life in the early 1900s, complete with shops, trams and a 1912 wooden carousel. 7. Halloween at the Burnaby Central Railway
One of the best Vancouver attractions for toddlers (and all ages) is the miniature Burnaby Central Railway, a labor of love from the non-profit, volunteer-based British Columbia Society of Model Engineers (BCSME). The Railway closes for the season at Thanksgiving but opens up again on Halloween night for a one-night-only train ride! Go early, as lines for this beloved attraction grow every year.

9. Trick or Treating in Vancouver - FREE
For most kids, the best thing about Halloween is trick or treating on Halloween night. Almost every Vancouver neighbourhood will welcome trick or treaters, but if you live somewhere that isn't trick-or-treat friendly, you can take the kids to Trinity Street (also famous for its Christmas light displays) or to one of the free trick-or-treat events around town, like Halloween in Yaletown, where kids trick or treat at Yaletown businesses.
