- Scrape off the material with a paint scraper. This is labor-intensive and may cause scratches and grooves in the cement. This method works best on small areas.
- Acetone will remove PVC cement. This is a good choice if the cement was dropped in medium to large bubbles. It will wipe up after you allow it to sit for a few minutes. You will have to wash the surface thoroughly afterward; it is best to use laundry detergent and another bucket with clean water.
- Mineral oil will remove PVC glue. It is not a hazardous chemical; it will turn the glue into a messy glob that can be scraped up with a paint scraper or heavy cloth. You will have to wash the surface to remove any latent mineral oil. The oil will have to sit for a longer period of time than acetone--possibly overnight. Because it is a natural substance, it will not give off as many fumes as acetone.
