Using Your TV to Switch Input Modes

  Examine your television in order to find the control buttons located on the console (usually located on the front of the television in older models and on the right side in newer models).
  
  
• 2). Locate the input selection button. Depending on the model of your television, this button may be labeled "Aux/TV," "TV/Video," "Input," "Tuner/Aux," "TV/Ext" or something else entirely. For a fairly extensive list of possible labels compiled by Nintendo, see the link in Resources.
  
  
• 3). Press the appropriate input selection button and your TV will cycle through the available input modes. (Generally: TV, Cable, Aux 1, Aux 2, or Video 1, Videos 2.)
  
  
• 4). Stop when you reach the desired input mode.
  
  If your television doesn't have an Input selection button, continue to the next section.
  
  

Navigating your TV's Menu Options

• 1). Press the "Menu" button on the front or side of your TV.
  
  
• 2). Scroll through the options using channel up/down buttons.
  
  
• 3). Select the "Input" option (usually by pressing the volume up button).
  
  
• 4). Scroll through the available input options.
  
  
• 5). Select "Video" mode (usually by pressing the volume up button).
  
  If your TV does not have an input option in the menu, you may require a remote control to change the input settings. Continue to the next section.
  
  

Using a Remote Control

  Examine your remote control (preferably the one that came with the television).
  
  
• 2). Locate the input selection button (usually labeled "Input," "TV/Aux" or "TV/Video." (Again, refer to the list in Resources for help.)
  
  
• 3). Press the input selection button. Your TV will cycle through the available input options. Stop when you reach the desired option.
  
  If pressing the input option brings up an on-screen menu, scroll through the available options (usually by pressing the channel up/down button or the up/down button on newer remotes) and select the desired option by pressing either the volume up button or the "Select" button on newer remotes.
  
  If your remote does not have an input selection button or you have lost the original remote that came with your TV, it may be necessary to purchase a universal remote with an input selection feature.

  Find a universal remote with an input selection feature by visiting a local electronics store or by shopping online.
  
  
• 2). Program your remote according to the instructions that came with it in order to enable it to control your brand of television.
  
  Each remote is a little different. Some feature automatic programming options while others require you to input codes manually. Refer to the user manual that came with the remote.
  
  
• 3). Press the input selection button. Your TV will cycle through the available input options. Stop when you reach the desired option.
