They say that there is no fixed rule for a marriage to be happier or longer. Indeed it is true that there is none. Every marriage seems to be different from the other and it has its own reason or success or failure which may match up with the other case study or may not.
Marriage through online meeting
These days, people are so much caught up with their professional lives that when they plan to get married theyreally have very few options and even less of time in hand to meet people socially. In fact, they rarely get time to go for socialisation and hence come the replacing concept of social networking sites.
There are sites specially meant for looking for a match and settling down in life. Here, one needs to log in and express his or preferences for the kind of partner one is looking for.
The recent statistics
In a study conducted by an online dating service company in US, it was found that the divorce rates were quite low in case of marriages which happened through online sites and even the separation were low too.
About 45% of the couples met through dating sites and slightly more than 20% of them met through social networking sites.
For them who got married through offline sources like workplace, friends and social gatherings, the divorce rates were slightly higher than the couples meeting each other through online sites.
The possible reason behind the slightly encouraging success rate
When you meet a person first on a site, you are actually non-judgemental about his or her looks and you tend to be liking or disliking the person because of his or her inherent properties. However, when you meet someone in a friends party or any such social gathering then you may get carried away by the looks or even by other physical parameters.
The possibility of saying no before marriage is higher and easier in case of an online integration than an offline one.
And therefore, it may become easier for a person to reject or accept more easily without feeling guilty. As because you reject a person since you dont like him or her it saves you from getting into a marriage which otherwise would have not lasted for a longer period of time.
Hence, online meeting or dating gives you more scope to understand an individual and or accept or reject him or her with less of hassles in compared to offline sources.
