Halle Berry had her moment to shine. Clue: it wasnt the Oscars. No one will ever forget her in that bikini scene when she emerged from the oceans wild waters with those piercing eyes, how she smoothed her hair down with a casual stroke of her hand, how the camera played it in slow motion to capture her every micro movement. The entire scene was likely rewound and replayed to death by the more appreciative men out there. Orange bikini sales rocketed in the aftermath of the release of Die Another Day, in which she starred alongside Pierce Brosnan.
Feminists might have recoiled at the sight of a woman so sensuously expressing her feminine curves, but if they did, it was soon made clear to them that that kind of visual feast was not gender specific. A few years later, out came one Daniel Craig - in another James Bond movie sporting the masculine answer to the orange bikini. It was hardly coincidence that the style in which he sported said costume was much like Halles. Gosh darn, the womens magazines wrote, did he look fine.
Unsurprisingly, sales of skimpy mens swimming trunks soared. Close-fitting shorts became the rage. One man, Daniel Craig [http://www.bondsblog.net], had given men everywhere even those with dubious six packs the confidence to strut their stuff. A paradigm shifted in the battle of the sexes: men, not just women, began to be openly, shamelessly ogled.
His role as James Bond [http://www.bondsblog.net] but more likely as the guy in the swimsuit catapulted him to super stardom. Who knew that swimming trunks held the key to success? The message one might glean from such a phenomenon might be along the lines of the following: buy a swimsuit, preferably a tight one, head to the ocean and get someone to film you as you give it all that on your way out.
But, alas, this wild speculation may be undermining the talent of the prolific actor. He has many other achievements under his belt besides swimming trunks. Layer Cake, another movie to give him a leg up the success ladder, was critically acclaimed.
Theres more to the man than blue swimming trunks.
