Have you ever tried triathlon training on your own with no clue on what to do next? After a few days, weeks or even months you find yourself not getting the results you thought you should have gotten? Some people including myself, have found that trying to save money or thinking that they know what to do by reading a little or watching a few free videos is enough to get going on a strict regiment.
I have written several articles trying to help people not to make the same mistake as me and others who have tried the hard way.
This kind of sport is not something that should be taken lightly when preparing to make an appearance in a race that has many professionals and serious competitors who have one goal, and that is to win.
Having a strict diet and schedule of what you will be doing from day to day is highly important to establish before you even begin to attempt to start training.
It has many benefits that will not only keep you organized but give you the confidence on race day.
What are some of the questions that most potential newbie want to know about this sport? 1.
Question: How much training does it take to place a good race? Answer: Continuous! Actually, I consider eating a strict diet to be a form of exercising in itself.
Do you realize that food is not just a form of pleasure any more? It is the main ingredient that provides you the ability to train.
You have to stick to it, with no temptations to skip or splurge.
There are plenty of foods that will more than satisfy your cravings.
2.
Question: What exercises to perform? Answer: Well think about all the different things you will be doing at a triathlon event.
Swimming, cycling, running.
Getting ready for each and everyone of those events requires you to do a lot of different drills.
You could do swimming drills one day.
Ride your bike on another day and running as well.
Cardio exercise between drills can be something you could implement between those drills or do all three in one day and do cardio on a separate day.
3.
Question: If I train really hard will I place a good finish? Answer: Not necessary.
Some people including myself, have found that they have worked hard on their own with now help of a trainer or home training program and not only placed poorly but had lack of self confidence on race day and felt disappointed in the end.
Look, do not become a victim like so many other have when it comes to getting prepared for an Iron-man event.
There are many cool programs that provide you all the proper techniques, schedule and strict meal plans that will not only help achieve a great finish, but give you the confidence you need to have when you go out there to compete in one of the best sports in the world.
