- 1). Consider each hero's specific power. Many are strength-based--such as the Thing, Hulk, Superman and Thor. Storm, Martian Manhunter and Ms. Marvel can fly, important for when you must traverse dangerous terrain or chasms. Others such as Batman, Spider-Man, Flash and Black Panther use speed and agility.
- 2). Think about elements of the game. You will encounter artificial intelligence, puzzles and enemies at each level, so the right combination of powers will help you fend off challenges while trying to complete the level. You can use four heroes in the Alliance games, while Justice only allows for two.
- 3). Choose a strength character as the team anchor. Heroes like Colossus or Wolverine can absorb and dish out plenty of damage while suffering little depletion of health reserves. Pick a hero with projectile ability--such as Green Arrow, Moon Knight or Captain America. Their weapons can take out enemies from a distance and cut down on the amount of damage the team may face.
- 4). Pick a flyer like Green Lantern in Justice or Silver Surfer or Iron Man in the Alliance games. Although some enemies can fire airborne weapons, many cannot--so players can safely hover above the battleground and blast enemies from the air.
- 5). Choose an agile character like Batman, Daredevil or Iron Fist for the ability to duck multiple enemy attacks during a fight--especially useful in end-level boss fights when quickness will help you evade constant attack.
