Becoming your own boss is a huge step to take and as I have done it recently with no experience and not a lot of cash I decided to write this article to try and help people to take that step.
Before I committed to a new business opportunity I did lots of research online to find the business that best suited my aims which were to work from home and spend time with my daughter as I am a single dad I recommend you do your own research to find a business opportunity that suits your aims.
Become your own boss is not something you should not consider unless you are going to be truly committed to it because the first month or so have been no picnic and I have almost quite several times.
It is crucial that you don't give up in the early stages in my experience it took a couple of months before I made a sale I got plenty of leads but they didn't convert to sales.
If you are like me and have no experience of running a business the time spent praying for your first sale can be very scary as you have invested money and initially you have nothing coming in but if you stay committed it will turn around and the is no substitute for being your own boss.
If like me you choose to go into online marketing and you do some research you will read things saying you can do this with a tiny marketing budget I really don't agree with that, although it is true you do not need a fortune but in my opinion you need to spend money on advertising to get your business up and running.
The first thing you need to do is build a presence on line by opening accounts with face book, twitter tube, better marketer to name just a few, in truth I would say open up as many accounts as possible to build your presence online.
The best ways I have found to get your name out there cheaply is article marketing but you must take care with your spelling a top tip is use your spell checker.
Nothing speaks of a lack of professional more than spelling errors (and I'm not talking about the odd one that slips in) or the lack of punctuation or capitalizing words in the middle of a sentence.
It would be similar to walking into a restaurant for the first time and the chef doesn't care about what the meal looks like because after all what is important is the taste of the food.
Therefore the sauce can be dripping off the plate, the potato is partially covered by the meat and the waiter has his thumb on top of the sprig of parsley.
Yuck.
Chances are no matter how good the food tasted I probably wouldn't return to that particular restaurant.
I hope I have not put you off taking that step to become your own boss.
It was the best thing I ever did and the benefits far outweigh the problems, all I am trying to say is you need to be committed and enter into it with your eyes wide open.
