How to Clean the Cover of an In-ground Swimming Pool

    • 1). Place the pool cover on the ground in a location that receives direct sunlight. Open the cover up so that it lays flat on the ground.

    • 2). Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of water and 2 to 3 tbsp. of a car wash soap.

    • 3). Insert a long-handled car wash brush into the bucket of soap and then use it to gently scrub the surface of the pool cover. Use back-and-forth motions and make sure that you clean every part of it.

    • 4). Rinse the soap residue off the cover using a garden hose. Start spraying at one side of the cover and work your way across with the spray so that all of the soap bubbles run off in the same direction.

    • 5). Allow the pool cover to remain in the sun until it is completely dry to the touch.

    • 6). Turn the cover over, with the help of a friend if needed, and repeat the cleaning process on the opposite side. Allow the cover to dry completely before folding it up and placing it in storage.
