The Relationship With a Sphynx

The Sphynx cat is known by other names with the wrinkled cat and moon cat among them.
It is not the most attractive of species that one would wish to lay eyes on but it has an even and pleasant temperament.
Owners of this unique breed of cat will apply virtues such as being part dog, part monkey, part child, and part cat.
Others will simply say it is the ugliest creature they have ever had the misfortune of seeing.
Its appearance is most interesting to say the least but that does not take away from it being one of the most lovable cats known to man.
As for being hairless, this breed has none of the many known allergies of their feline counterparts.
On the con side, its lack of hair makes it extremely vulnerable to temperature changes.
Although brushing and combing are obviously not chores that need to be done, the Sphynx is nonetheless a high maintenance cat.
Regular cleaning with a warm wash cloth or baby wipe will rid the skin of accumulated dirt, dust, and oil.
Ears require regular maintenance as well.
Alien though it may be in appearance, this feline is very affectionate and sociable.
They have a loving and attention seeking attitude, that makes humans its preferable companion but it gets along well with frogs and cats alike.
With the ability to being trained on a leash, be prepared for many sidelong glances when out walking.
Originating in Canada, the rarity of its breed makes for it being seldom seem in the United States, Europe and Australia.
The Sphynx is the only recognized hairless breed today.
It is not a high activity animal, so it is equally at home in an apartment as in a large home.
If you should have an interest in these unusual pets, breeders can be easily located on the internet.
Be prepared to see a hefty price tag based on age and breeding qualities.
