- 1). Open your Web browser and navigate to GoDaddy (see Resources).
- 2). Go to "My Products" and click "Domain Manager."
- 3). Click on the domain name you want to unlock. This will open the domain management window for that particular domain.
- 4). Click the "Locking" menu at the top menu bar. Select the "Lock" box if the domain is locked and click "Ok" to unlock it.
- 5). Look under the "Domain Information" category and click on the "Send by email" link next to the "Authorization Code" heading to receive your domain's Authorization code in your inbox.
- 6). Open your email inbox and copy the Authorization code.
- 7). Log on to your new domain registrar's website. Follow the instructions for transferring and entering the authorization code received from GoDaddy. After you have done this, the registry will notify GoDaddy that you have authorized the domain's transfer to the new registrar.
- 8). Accept or reject the transfer. GoDaddy will email you instructions to complete the transfer. You will have five days to accept or reject the transfer. If not, GoDaddy will auto complete it. Once you accept the transfer, the domain registry notifies your new registrar of the transfer's acceptance or rejection. GoDaddy will then email a confirmation that the transfer is complete to the other registrar.
