Pursuing a bachelor's degree in criminal justice prepares students for careers in law enforcement, corrections and the court system. A criminal justice degree can also provide a foundation for advanced graduate studies or complement preparation for careers in law, counseling, social work, public administration and other fields. Many Florida criminal justice colleges offer degree programs to get you started on a successful career path. - More than 53,000 students attend the University of Central Florida at its 1,415-acre main campus and 11 regional campuses. It offers Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree programs in criminal justice through the Department of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies. Both undergraduate programs offer four areas of concentration: law enforcement, corrections, justice administration and security administration. The university's approach to criminal justice is multidisciplinary, so the curriculum includes aspects of psychology, sociology, political science and law. Other required course topics include the criminal justice system, crime in America, prosecution and adjudication, corrections and penology, police and society, and research methods in criminal justice. Students also have the opportunity to complete internships in a variety of criminal justice settings.

ucf.edu - Founded in 1964, Nova Southeastern University is the nation's seventh-largest nonprofit independent higher-education institution, with an enrollment of over 29,000. The Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences offers a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice. The university also offers a dual-admission fast-track program that allows students to continue with a master's degree in criminal justice after completing the bachelor's degree program. Students in the fast-track program need only 30 graduate credit hours to earn their master's, as opposed to the standard 36 hours, and typically take only five years to earn both degrees. Both freshmen and transfer students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum ACT score of 21 or SAT score of 1000 to enter the program. Students must also maintain at least a 3.0 GPA in their undergraduate work to be eligible to continue with the graduate program.

nova.edu - Florida International University is a public four-year university with a student body of nearly 40,000, and it's one of the nation's 25 largest universities. The Department of Criminal Justice offers both bachelor's and master's degrees. Both degree programs are available on campus or fully online. The department also offers a combined bachelor's/master's degree program that allows qualified undergraduate students to take 12 credit hours of graduate courses and apply the credits to both their undergraduate and graduate degrees. The university also has internship placement agreements with more than 45 local, state and federal agencies.
