Ciara has her hands tied together and is lying on the bed. Kyle soon puts a blindfold over her eyes along with earphones in her ears. Officer Dean and a woman named Brenda arrive at the cabin, where Kyle asks them if it’s happening. “As we speak,” confirms Brenda. Dean needs to go, but Brenda implores him not to leave her alone with Kyle and “that kid.” He urges her to do her part, and he’ll do his.
After Dean leaves, Kyle removes Ciara’s blindfold and helps her sit up. “I want my mommy,” whines Ciara. Brenda tells her to shut up, smirking how they all want things they can’t have. She tells Ciara that if her parents are smart, she’ll see them soon.
Bo and Hope return to the police station, where Bo orders the officers to do another search of the designated area, to find out what’s going on with the Amber Alert, and to follow any suspicious lead thoroughly. Hope wonders if it’s possible that the bear isn’t Ciara’s and a lookalike. Bo insists that Ciara dropped the bear where he found it. He demands to know how Ciara got the bear back. Hope is baffled by his questioning and insists that she didn’t give Ciara the bear back. “Then how the hell did she get it?” asks Bo. Hope has no idea and demands to know what he’s accusing her of. Bo states that the important thing is that they get their daughter back. Justin is confused as to why the Brady’s are arguing over a bear.
The officer informs Bo that they finished sweeping the area, but came up with nothing.
Justin tries to assure Hope that they’ll get Ciara back. The officer soon presents Bo with a ransom note: “Five million dollars if you ever want to see your little girl again.” Hope is crestfallen and begins to fall apart. She wonders how they’re supposed to get that kind of money in the middle of the night. Justin agrees to go talk to Uncle Victor. Hope soon realizes that Ciara was taken because of the newspaper clipping, referring to the donation she made.
Hope blames herself for Ciara being targeted, assuming that Bo believes it too. Bo says the kidnappers know she has money, which is why they sent the newspaper article with the ransom note. She suggests that maybe the money is completely irrelevant, insisting that she doesn’t know how Ciara got the bear back. Bo tries to assure Hope that he believes her, but Hope isn’t buying it. He insists that he’s not accusing her, only asking if she gave the bear back to Ciara. Hope gets upset and insists that it’s not what happened. The officer reemerges with the results from the lab, with no fingerprints or DNA on the notes or newspaper clippings. He also confirms that the DNA from the teddy bear came back, and Ciara definitely had it earlier.
Bo later informs his officers that they are going to search the designated areas again, but this time they’ll have CSI with them. He vows that they will find his daughter, even if they have to work through the night. Officer Dean arrives pretending to be one of the good guys.
Justin returns to the Kiriakis Mansion and reveals to Victor that Ciara’s been kidnapped.
Chloe
In Chloe’s hospital room, a nurse stands by her bedside and tells the other nurse that they’re losing her. The nurse later remarks what a miracle it is, noting how Chloe’s fighting hard to come back.
Brady Pub
Arianna returns to the pub and gets a scale out, but puts it away when she hears a knock at the door. She answers it to Melanie, who needs someone to talk to. Melanie rambles on and on about the thoughts she’s having, but Arianna interrupts and insists that she has work to do. Melanie tells her not to play a player and wonders what’s really going on. Arianna asks Melanie to just let it go and to cut her a break, insisting that she needs to be alone right now. Melanie proceeds to head to the carnival. Arianna apologizes if something is bugging Melanie and says she wants to help, but now’s not the time.
After Melanie leaves, Arianna puts a black glove on and begins to weigh the drugs, pouring the cocaine out of the bottle. She soon puts the goods away when she hears another knock at the door. It’s none other than Brady. He comes inside and apologizes for their interruption earlier, stating that he’s helping Daniel out. He reveals that he put in a couple of calls for Daniel and won’t hear anything until tomorrow morning, which may be why she won’t hear from him until then. She chuckles and remarks how it’s good to know that he won’t be avoiding her. He assures her that he could never avoid her, then kisses her. He pulls away when he sees cocaine on the ground. She plays innocent and wonders what it is. He confirms that it’s cocaine.
Elsewhere
Daniel is at the Cheatin’ Heart telling himself to calm down, since the Chloe situation is out of his hands right now. Chloe soon appears behind him and tells him not to worry, in that he will save her. Of course it turns out to be just a fantasy of his. An attractive brunette sits next to Daniel and smiles at him flirtatiously, noting that he’s not alone anymore. She agrees to have what he’s having, but he heads out, still tormented by thoughts of Chloe.
Daniel is later on the pier and has another fantasy of Chloe approaching him and assuring him that she can feel how much he loves her, which helps. She professes that no matter what happens, he’ll always be in her heart. He kisses her, then comes back to reality vowing to save Chloe somehow.
Philip is later at the carnival and leaves a message for Stephanie, revealing that he just did something which could change everything. He sees Nathan and Stephanie nearby, where Nathan tries to feed her cotton candy. She takes a bite when Philip soon interrupts and punches Nathan, wrestling him to the ground. Steph breaks up the fight as Nathan yells how Philip is nuts. Philip tries to insist to Stephanie that something happened, but she doesn’t want to hear it and tells him to go home. She storms off and Nathan follows her. A dejected Philip sits down and is soon approached by Melanie. She thought he was going home, but Philip states that things became clear. She is taken by surprise when he kisses her.
