It"s Not Too Late!

"To be successful - you must actually plan it.
" - A Wise Man
Wow, we are nearing the end of another year and with year-end come the holiday festivities! The time of year when you are all excited and filled with anticipation of not only what this season will bring but also of the coming New Year.
That is why there is no better time than now for reflections on what may have happened over the past minutes, hours, days, weeks and months leading up to this point in time.
As a matter of fact, the combination of our traditional celebrations and the anticipation of the start of a New Year make this a natural time to review the past and look towards the future.
Through the year, you work hard.
And sometime being so busy that it became easy to lose your way.
Sometime even taking love ones for granted and neglecting your goals in the rush to pay your bills and get through the day.
That is why this time of year while even with its hustle and bustle, also gives you an opportunity to slow down; it gives you us extra time off; time you can share with your love ones, and remember the year gone by.
All of us need this time, so that we can reflect on our accomplishments and recommit ourselves to our important goals and values.
Sometimes, you get down on yourself for getting caught up in life and even consider are results "failure" just because of your busyness with just living.
But as the year is about to roll over to a new one, you can use this opportunity to start again and resolve to move in the direction that you really want to go.
As I shared with you before, if was amazing for me to learn that ships and planes are off-course almost the entire time that they are travelling to their destinations - wind currents, human failures and countless other "little things" constantly toss them off-course.
This is how life really is! You have a destination, you have values and desires, and you know your ultimate goals, but much of the time the winds and currents of life get you off-course.
As you are so busy at work, with family emergencies or illness that you forget to show appreciation for what you have and to those around you.
You do not get to say "I love you" and "thank you" as much as you should.
As with the ships, you are doing your best while being tossed by the winds and waves.
But the captains and the pilots make the difference in the journey.
You see, the captains and pilots are never surprised or discouraged or "lost" because a gust of wind knocks them off-course.
They simply adjust and keep right on going.
This is why it is important for you to remember that you will fall, you will have setbacks but you must have the discipline to get up, brush yourself off and get back on course.
Dr.
Myles Munroe, says it best, "Discipline is remembering what you want.
" No matter what happens, if you remember what you want or your goals, "failures" will only be stepping-stones to your successes! Just like almost every ship eventually find the right harbour and every plane eventually land at the right airport, you will eventually achieve the success you want, if you make the necessary adjustments and get back on course.
It's not too late! So, use this holiday as a time for reflection, not to become overwhelmed by your failures but to assess where you are and to chart a new course for your life.
Take time to sit down with a pen and some paper and re-establish your goals.
Remembering that you are the captain and pilot of your ship or plane and reaching your destination depends on the skills and tools you have.
"Taking Control of Your Money Workbook" is a useful resource to help you get this done.
Use this time for clearing out and completing things you may not have done and giving yourself a clean slate to start the New Year.
It is a powerful feeling to know you have a new year ahead of you and you can choose what you want to do with it.
And the Holidays are a good time for reflection about where you want to go next year! "When we are motivated by goals that have deep meaning, by dreams that need completion, by pure love that needs expressing, then we truly live.
