If you are exercising without the right music you might be wasting your time.
Exercising is supposed to be taxing.
You don't always need to go as hard as you can but if you are not sweating, you are probably not getting a lot out of the workout.
Is your workout as hard as it could be? We all have the slow lazy days.
Not really wanting to physically exert ourselves but still going out or to the gym just to go through the motions.
When we don't feel up to working out we don't put a lot of effort into what we're doing.
It's great to have gone out and exercised but working hard while you're there burns more fat and releases more endorphins that give you increased energy and elevate your mood.
Your gym may play music - but is it your kind of music? Music is one of the best ways to increase the intensity of your exercise.
While listening to the right music, fast tempo and high energy, you automatically start doing more and your heart starts beating faster.
Using songs you love helps you push through the barriers and go the distance.
The songs therefore help you burn more fat than exercising without music.
Often you fall into a kind of trance where you just keep pounding the treadmill, not thinking about having to finish the mile or doing a few extra minutes.
I once realized I had been going a while longer than I had planned before starting.
And I still had energy to go on.
What's your favorite song - load up your iPod The best tip for getting into the mood is to have playlists for different types of exercise.
Songs for running should have a faster beat than songs for working out with free weights or machines.
Some songs I like are Alien Ant Farm's version of Smooth Criminal for running and Eminem's Lose Yourself for weight lifting and pushups.
It worked for me and I'm sure it's going to work for you as well.
Hopefully you'll start now, make a playlist and start getting more out of your work outs.
