Vaginal Candida or vaginal candidiasis is a yeast infection caused by Candida Albicans, which is a fungus.
Candida normally can be found in the human body in a small quantity in vagina, intestines and on skin.
The normal environment in vagina is acidic and that fact stops yeast overgrowth.
If the balance of acidity is tilted to alkaline, yeast overgrowth can begin.
