- 1). Log on to superior court website for the county that you got the ticket in. For example, if you got your ticket in Los Angeles, you will go to lasuperiorcourt.org. It will say on the back of your ticket what website you should go to.
- 2). Navigate to the Traffic Ticket section.
- 3). Click the link to "Request an Extension."
- 4). Search for your file by either entering the citation number on the ticket or your driver's license number. You will also need to enter the court house that you are scheduled to appear in and the police department that issued you the citation. In some cases, it can take a few days after getting the citation for your information to appear online.
- 5). If you are eligible for an extension, there will an option to obtain one under your ticket information. Simple select that option and continue to receive your extension. In Los Angeles, you can extend your due date for a maximum of 60 days. That may vary depending on your state and county.
