Horse Blanket Repair and Starting Your Own Business

Horse blankets are so expensive and horse are quick to ruin them.
People who don't know horses or know about horse blankets will laugh when you mention repairing horse blankets.
But if you are horse owner, then you know how much cheaper it is to have your horse blanket repaired than to replace it.
The three most common types of horse blanket fabrics are: Pack cloth - this is a type of fabric that is used many times in backpacks or waterproof purses.
It is a lightweight nylon fabric with a plastic coating on the back.
It is recommended that you don't put these types of fabrics in the dryer because the plastic coating will melt and peel.
This fabric is used a lot in horse blankets because of it being waterproof and lightweight.
But it can rip pretty easily.
Duck Cloth - this is a heavy type of cotton canvas material that's used for heavy turnout type blankets.
Waterproofing this type of fabric is easy by using a waterproofing spray.
It will have to be reapplied after every washing.
It is not recommended that you dry this type of fabric in the dryer since it can shrink.
Textilene - This is a heavy plastic coated nylon mesh that is used for fly sheets.
It wears for ever unless you have a mouse that decides to chew through it.
But for the most part, these type of fly sheets hold up really well.
They can be sprayed or hosed off for easy cleaning, but not recommended for drying in a dryer because the plastic coating could melt.
Starting your own horse blanket repair business can be a very lucrative business for horse owners.
There is a big demand for horse blanket repairing and cleaning.
