How to Call a Mobile Phone in England From the U.S.A.

    • 1). Begin the call by dialing "011." This prefix will access an international line when dialed from within the United States. If you are calling from a mobile phone, you can replace this prefix with the "+" symbol.

    • 2). Dial the U.K.'s country code. For anywhere in the U.K., including England, the country code to use is "44."

    • 3). Enter the mobile carrier's prefix number. Each mobile carrier has a different prefix, but all of the prefixes will start with "07" and three additional digits follow. When dialing the prefix from outside of England, you drop the leading zero.

    • 4). Dial the mobile phone number. The mobile phone number is six digits, and you enter it last, once you have entered the international access code, country code and carrier prefix.
