As someone who knits, you are like every other knitter and have a basket filled with skeins of yarn and unfinished projects. It sits beside a chair or sofa in your den, family room, or wherever you sit for long stretches of time. In this basket, it is very common to pull out a half-knitted throw, wrap, baby item and usually a big piece that ended up being overwhelming, or yes, boring, for you to finish. To overcome this naughty knitter's habit, here are some helpful tips to finish what you start.
Everyone wants to knit a sweater or a large throw but both projects are huge undertakings especially for a "novice knitter." We know how tempting it is when you see a beautiful cashmere yarn and think what a beautiful sweater it would make. But, before you take the plunge, think about your knitting basket. Do you have other things sitting in there that, in all reality, need to be finished? If not, and you think that you are ready for a project like this, bite the bullet and begin making that cashmere sweater.
For most anything you want to knit, there is a pattern to follow so that you can attempt to knit whatever it is you want to make correctly (or at least try). Along with the directions comes a picture or two so that you can see the finished project and envision what it looks like with your selection of yarn. To get an idea of what the piece can look like, imagine the picture with your colors and types of yarn. Hopefully, you did this at the onset of any of the unfinished pieces in your knitting basket. Before starting something new, try and envision what they might look like and finish those first.
Other designers to have worked with Wool mark in the past include Vivienne Westwood, Mark Jacobs and Giorgio Armani, while the likes of Victoria Beckham, Diane von Furstenberg and Donatella Versace have acted as judges in the annual International Wool mark Prize.
