- River vessels must be less than 18 feet in length and cannot be made out of foam.
- Jumping from trees, cliffs, bridges and other structures is forbidden.
- Alcohol is allowed on the river, but with restrictions. No glass containers, high volume drinking devices (e.g., beer bongs), or containers under 5 fluid ounces are allowed. Coolers must have a locking mechanism and a maximum volume of 16 quarts, with one cooler per person permitted.
- Noise-making devices like radios may not be audible beyond 50 feet.
- Tube rental companies monitor the river flow rate. When the flow rate reaches above 500 cubic feet per second (cfs), children under 8 must wear a life vest. All river riders must wear a life jacket when flow rate reaches above 750 cfs. Tubing is forbidden when river flows above 1000 cfs.
- Texas State Law applies to all parts of the river. Littering on the river is illegal just as it is everywhere in Texas.
