- 1). Choose Cattleya, Cymbidium, Mokara, Aranthera or Odontoglossum orchids to use for making corsages.
- 2). Unwrap the orchids from any plastic wrap surrounding them immediately after purchase.
- 3). Spray Mokara and Aranthera blossoms with water from the spray bottle to revive them, if they appear wilted.
- 4). Fill the bowl with warm water (about 100 degrees Farenheit) and submerge the ends of the stems in the water.
- 5). Cut 1/4-inch from the ends of the stems with the sharp knife, cutting the stems at a 45-degree angle.
- 6). Fill the vase with warm water (100 degrees Fahrenheit) and place the orchids in the vase immediately.
- 7). Place the vase in a location out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources and cool drafts. Temperatures around 60 degrees Fahrenheit are ideal. Hold the orchid flowers in the vase, changing the water daily, until you are ready to make the corsage.
