Yoga Nidra and Its Benefits

Yoga Nidra is just one kind among the variety of yoga practices.
Yoga Nidra focuses on the visualization using sound and mantra.
This kind of yoga aims to tune the body and mind together.
The method of Yoga Nidra uses the color emerald green.
Such color is known for its relaxing effect.
The visionary guidance is centered on the body and its organs.
It lets you stay with an image for several minutes the emerald green on the background, until the mind relaxes and calms.
People usually use Yoga Nidra for a deep relaxing state.
Aside from its calming effect, Yoga Nidra is also used to cure back pain particularly of pregnant women.
But yoga in general is a good exercise for moms-to-be to enhance their flexibility that their condition demands from them.
Pregnant women with back pain, most often than not, can hardly predict the labor and delivery time during their pregnancy period.
With frequent yoga practice, back pains are lessened.
This belief came from ancient Indian perspectives on intuition and mother's instincts.
Before, they believed that a mother could sense the baby's sex by the last of the first trimester of pregnancy.
The basic combination of a yoga exercise is composed of breathing techniques, postures, and meditation.
However, external stimulants such as sound and visualization provide an extensive meditation.
Similar to meditation that is recognized in Yoga Nidra is hypnosis.
In Yoga Nidra, it is trance like state of deep relaxation while your mind stays restfully alert and open to suggestion.
This method includes deep breathing, vivid visualization, and powerful mantra.
A background mantra is usually sang on the audio file.
Aside from attaining perfect postures, yoga is about the individual while having a developed mental focus, relaxed mind, and physical strength.
That is why it is a preventive medicine for several body pains.
When we practice yoga it makes us feel good on all levels.
If we listen to the body and not over stretch when we practice.
Perhaps it's 'agreeably uncomfortable'.
Certainly not to strain the body but work within it with what we can do now.
Some days will be better and easier than others so we work with the body.
By working with the body and listening to it, we start to come from the heart rather than the ego.
Ego is OK as long as it is under control.
Yes we have the desire to do better, but that desire can take us off track, we strive for something which we may not yet be ready for, so 'pushing' ourselfes is not recommened.
So come from the heart rather than the ego.
