- 1). Turn off the electricity for the Kenmore dishwasher at the main circuit breaker. Either flip the switch to the off position or remove the fuse from the breaker. Check that you've cut the right breaker by trying to start the dishwasher. If it doesn't start, you've got the right breaker.
- 2). Open the dishwasher door. Remove the lower dishwasher rack.
- 3). Look for the fill sensor cover. It's usually located in the corner of the bottom of the cabinet, but may vary between the front and rear of the cabinet, depending on the Kenmore model.
- 4). Remove the fill sensor cover by either snapping it up out of place, or removing the screw anchoring it in position on the top.
- 5). Grasp the sensor by the center tower and gently twist counterclockwise to remove it from the socket. You may need to first unsnap the sensor arm, depending on the Kenmore model. Pull the fill sensor up and out of the bottom of the cabinet.
- 6). Insert a new fill sensor into the socket. Turn clockwise. Replace the sensor arm, if needed.
- 7). Replace the fill sensor cap. Secure with the screw, if present.
- 8). Replace the lower dishwasher rack. Restore electricity to the dishwasher.
