- There is an abundance of sources available for printing save the date magnets; see the Resources list for links to some of them. Most companies that offer save the date magnets give you plenty of options for sizes and designs. Keep in mind that the save the date announcement is your guests' first introduction to your event, so the style of the magnet should reflect the style of the event, whether it is elegant and sophisticated or festive and whimsical.
- Save the date magnets should include the basic information about your event, including the name of the event---i.e.: "Dan and Karen's Wedding" or "The Peterson's 50th Anniversary"---the date and the location. Plan to mail your magnets around six months before the event, eight months if it requires guests to travel, such as for a destination wedding.
- If you want to go the DIY route, most office supply stores sell adhesive backed, business card size magnets. Using your computer, you can print your details on business cards and adhere them to the magnets yourself.
