- 1). Slide the jack underneath a point on the trailer where it can sturdily be lifted. You must lift the vehicle on the same side as the tire you want to work on. For best results, slide the jack underneath the side of the vehicle near the tire that is flat, so that side of the vehicle will be lifted from the ground.
- 2). Loosen the lug nuts on the tire with the tire wrench. Loosen them enough that they move, but don't remove them.
- 3). Access the jack to lift the trailer off the ground, leaving enough room to remove the tire. Depending on the type of jack you have purchased, this either means cranking the lever to lift the car or pressing down on the lifting mechanism with your foot. This allows you to raise the vehicle.
- 4). Remove the lug nuts and set them aside in a safe place. You must use them to attach the new tire.
- 5). Pull the tire from the trailer and set it aside. Slide the new tire in place over the bolts. Screw each lug nut in place over the tire with your hand, but don't tighten them all the way.
- 6). Lower the trailer back to the ground by carefully releasing the lever on the jack. To do this, you must turn the lever to the left, which will lower the jack, bringing your trailer back to the ground. Use the tire wrench to secure each lug nut.
