New Hampshire Resort Improvements

Bretton Woods

  • New Spa & Conference Center: Resort guests can enjoy the new 25,000 square foot Spa at The Mount Washington Resort this winter, as well as the new Presidential Wing conference room, which at 30,000 square feet is one of the largest meeting spaces in Northern New Hampshire.
  • Expanded Kids Center: The Kinderwoods Playground receives a rope-tow for the sledding hill, as well as a fire pit and new playground equipment.


  • Year-Round Canopy Tours: Scheduled to open this fall, the Canopy Tour descends over 1,000 feet via zip-lines, suspension bridges and hiking trails.
  • New Rental Equipment: The resort has replaced its entire fleet of rental equipment for the upcoming season.
  • High-Performance Demo Equipment: High-performance demo equipment will be available for season rental, giving guests access to a quiver of equipment for changing conditions.

Cannon Mountain
  • New Trails: Cannon has added six new gladed areas as well as a new trail in the Tuckerbrook Family area. The new glades will be located on the upper mountain and include four expert and one intermediate glade.
  • Easier Navigation: Names have been added to some existing and unnamed trails, making it easier to get around the resort.
  • New Groomer: A new Prinoth Bison groomer has been added to the grooming fleet.

  • New Trails: The resort has added four new trails, bringing its total to 50.

Crotched Mountain
  • New Gladed Area: A new glade, named the Solstice Glades, has been cut on the mountain.

Dartmouth Skiway
  • FIS Race Trail Upgrades: Per FIS suggestions, Dartmouth has blasted and regraded 200,000 square feet of FIS competition slalom and giant slalom trails.
  • Expanded Snowmaking: 3 new SMI fan guns have been added to the snowmaking system, along with rebuilt pumps and new drainage.

Granite Gorge
  • Snowmaking Upgrades: Snowmaking coverage has been expanded to the summit, as has lighting.
  • New Trails: Three new trails have been cut - a beginner trail to be named Glider, another trail, and a new gladed area called Patriot Glades.
  • Improved Guest Services & Facilities Valet-parking option will now exist, and an all-new equipment rental facility has been built.

Loon Mountain
  • New trails: Two new trails have been cut on South Peak, adding an additional 14 acres of terrain.
  • New Surface Lift: A Magic Carpet will replace the old Sasparilla rope-tow, which has been moved to a location above its original spot.
  • More Snowmaking: 20 new Boyne Low-E fan guns and 50 new tower guns have been added to the resort's snowmaking arsenal.

  • Improved Snowmaking: 30 new HKD energy efficient snow guns have been added to the resort's arsenal, improving their ability to make snow and reducing energy consumption.

Pats Peak
  • Additional Snowmaking: Snowmaking now covers 100% of the area, with 14 new HKD tower guns, 8 SMI fan guns, and a high-capacity water pump.
  • Increased Lighting: The resort now has 100% of its terrain available for night skiing and riding with the addition of lights to the Tornado Trail.
  • New Gladed Trail: A new glade has been cut between the East Wind and Duster trails.
  • Additional Rental Equipment: 150 snowboards have been added to the rental fleet, along with new ski equipment.

Waterville Valley
  • Upgraded Snowmaking: 85 new low-energy snowguns are being added to the resort's snowmaking system.
  • New Groomer: A new snowcat has been added to improve snow quality across the resort.
  • Upgraded Glades: Several glades have been thinned out over the summer to improve the skiing and riding in the woods.
  • Terrain Park Improvements: New rails and boxes, along with an upgraded sound system have been added to the terrain parks at Waterville.

  • New Snowguns: Low-energy snowguns have been added to the resort's snowmaking system.
  • Terrain Park Upgrades: New boxes and rails have been added to the terrain park with help from the guys at Snow Grind.
  • Base Lodge Improvements: New carpet, fresh interior paint and improvements to the bar area have been made inside the base lodge for the 08-09 season.
