- 1). Open the Norton 360 application. Click on "Task and Settings" in the menu bar, and choose "Change Advanced Settings" in the drop-down menu. Click on "Firewall Protection Settings." Navigate to the tab that says "Firewall General Rules" and click "Add."
- 2). Choose the "Permit" option and click "Next." Determine whether you want this rule to apply to outgoing IPs or incoming IPs, and click on the proper direction. Choose "Only computers and sites listed below" and click "Add."
- 3). Type in the trusted IP address that you want Norton 360 to allow to pass. Click OK, then the "Next" button. You most likely can leave the radio button on the default option, which reads "All types of communication (all ports, local and remote)," and indicates that this IP rule will apply to all ports. If you wish to specify a particular port, choose "Only the types of communication or ports listed below." Click "Add" and specify the port you wish to use.
- 4). Click "Next" twice more until the final screen appears, showing you a summary of all of the settings that you have changed. If everything looks correct, click "Finish" and confirm the changes by clicking "Apply." If something is wrong, push the "Back" button and fix the choice. Close the application.
