Some of them go out and find a private teacher.
Some of them buy some online guitar lessons and educate themselves this way.
Others will learn from YouTube and free internet tab sites.

I want to urge you to be different from most of the other guitarists in your position.
All those tools that I just mentioned are very important to an individual who wants to learn how to play the guitar.
I don't deny this.
However, you already possess two tools that are much more valuable, and you have possessed them your entire life.
Here's a hint...
they are stuck to the sides of your head.
Your ears, of course, is what I am referring to.
Many new guitarists make it a point to stimulate themselves visually as much as possible when they get a new guitar.
They want their teacher to SHOW them things.
They want to WATCH videos on YouTube and LOOK at tabs on the internet.
I understand that people have different ways of learning things, but music is an aural art and I feel that many of today's guitarists forget this in their search for instant gratification.
Learning by ear takes longer and it is without a doubt more frustrating, but I guarantee that the rewards are tremendous compared to any other method.
As you continue to look for acoustic beginner online guitar lessons, keep this important truth in mind.
