Three Simple Ways to Eat Healthier

I'll admit it, I should eat healthier. I do ok, but could do much better. It's hard with a modern frantic lifestyle, especially if you work hard and especially if you travel extensively especially business travel like I do. Here are three tips that work to help me eat more healthily that may work for you too.

1) I try to have breakfast at home everyday before leaving. This cuts down on my eating junk for breakfast when I suddenly realize I'm famished at 10:30. Since I make coffee every morning, I simultaneous take the water I've boiled and make instant oatmeal. Simple and it works. When traveling you may need some ingenuity, for example most hotels have coffee machines in the room when I travel and they are great for making instant oatmeal too!

2) Keep decent and healthy snacks in the office. I'm an occasional snacker, and I'll likely to grab a bag of chips or candy bar especially in the afternoon. If however I keep healthy snacks around like veggies and fruit, I happily eat those instead. I also travel with healthy snacks to avoid problems like ordering from room service when marginally hungry at 11PM for example!

3) At least once a week, bring lunch to work. In reality I do this 3-4 times a week, but aim for at least once. The lunch I pack is almost always healthier than what I would have bought. Try it and see. Just once a week should be doable for anyone! When traveling I try to get rooms with refrigerators and if not still try to hit a grocery store for whole grain breads, fruits, veggies, and other basics to make an occasional meal

Most of us should eat better. Eating healthy though is not an on and off thing. You can slowly ease into better and better eating habits.
