- Take a trip to the nation's capital in Washington, D.C. to see up close the inner workings of the federal government. Tours are offered of the U.S. capitol building, White House, U.S. Congress, FBI and other governmental agencies. If you cannot make the trip to Washington, D.C., visit a nearby state's capital for tours.
- Take a trip to New York City to see the Statue of Liberty. The statue was a gift to the United States from France. It was dedicated Oct. 28, 1886 and was designated a national monument in 1924. Visit Mount Rushmore in South Dakota to see a 60-foot tall mountain-side carving of former presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. Mount Rushmore was designed and sculpted by Gutzon Borglum. It was finished in 1941. Visit Stone Mountain, Georgia to see the Confederate Memorial Carving, on which Borglum also served as one of the designers and sculptures. This monument depicts former U.S. President Jefferson Davis and Confederate generals Robert E. Lee and Thomas Jackson on horseback.
- Visit one of America's beaches, among the best in the world. Beaches located along the east coast include Kalmus Beach in Hyannis, Massachusetts; Edisto Beach in Edisto Island, South Carolina; and Sunset Beach in Cape May, New Jersey. California beaches include Laguna Beach, Venice Beach, and Hermosa Beach. The California beaches appeared on a "Travel Channel" list of the state's top 10 beaches for 2010. Along the southern and southwestern United States, visit Crystal Beach in Crystal Beach, Texas; Gulf Shores Beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama; Pensacola Beach in Pensacola, Florida; and Panama City Beach in Panama City, Florida.
- Take a trip to the Los Angeles area to see tapings of television sitcoms, talk shows and game shows. Take a tour of NBC Studios, Paramount Studios, and Warner Bros. Studios. Attend tapings of "The Tonight with Jay Leno," "Conan O'Brian Show," "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," and "Lopez Tonight" while in the Los Angeles area. There are also companies in the Los Angeles area that offer tours of celebrity homes. Attend tapings of the "Wendy Williams Show" and "Live! with Regis and Kelly" in New York City. NBC Studio tours are also offered in New York City.
