How to Learn Dragon Style Kung Fu Movements

    • 1). Stand in an upright stance with your dominant foot turned slightly away from straight ahead, and your non-dominant leg facing your attacker slightly in front of the other foot. Rest more of your weight on your back leg.

    • 2). Hold your hands close together at chest height, with each moving in small circles toward the outside of your body. Stagger the motion of your hands that they are not both at the same point of their circles at the same time.

    • 3). Parry your attacker's blow by catching their wrist in your lead hand and stepping in the direction of the lead hand at the same time. You will have your attacker's wrist extended out to the side of the body and no longer be standing directly in front of them.

    • 4). Strike at the neck of your attacker with an open hand using your dominant hand. This will stagger your opponent and remove their wind.

    • 5). Sweep up the leg of your attacker on the side you stepped to while parrying their blow. Sweep the leg by hooking the inside of the leg with your dominant leg, so that they are now standing on one leg.

    • 6). Strike down on the lower leg which they are standing on using your sweeping leg. Do not place this leg down before striking. This strike will knock your attacker down.

    • 7). Leave the danger area. Your attacker will be on the ground and having difficulty breathing fully, making them unlikely to be able to pursue you successfully.
