Summer programs of all types are offered within the county, including summer camps, sports clinics and nature programs. While some have a fee, others are offered without cost.

    Gore Creek Fly Fisherman

    • Gore Creek Fly Fisherman offers casting clinics each day from Memorial Day through the end of September. The program takes place in Vail Village by the Gore Creek Promenade. Clinics can accommodate all levels of fishermen from those just learning the sport to people looking to brush up on their techniques. Expert staff members teach the clinic as they demonstrate casting and answer any questions about the sport.

    The First Tee of Eagle County

    • Run by The Youth Foundation, The First Tee of Eagle County offers a number of summer programs for young people who are focused on golf. Programs include a girls-only session, a player's league made up of 10-member teams and birdie level golf instruction. A "sports and fitness for life" half-day camp is also offered that provides instruction in golf, soccer and martial arts along with fitness and nutrition counseling. All programs emphasize core values, including honesty, integrity, perseverance and respect.

    Vail Nature Center

    • Vail Nature Center is located on seven acres on Gore Creek. The center offers a number of summer programs for both children, adults and families. Hiking programs for those 18 and older are offered throughout the summer. A day-camp for children provides hands-on learning opportunities about nature and ecology. Summer family programs include wildflower walks, beaver pond tours, family fun nights, bird walks and stargazing.
